life starts now. you've done all the things that could kill you
somehow. ♥ Some distance away, far enough away where she wasn't too much noticed by others along the beach, Toshiko sat along a more rocky area that bordered the crashing waves. She sat with her knees up and her arms wrapped around her legs as the slight breeze blew through her hair. She always adored gazing out at the horizon as the sun set behind the blue water. The sky would change color in only a matter of a couple hours, going from a bright orangy pink to a sparkling night sky. Scenery such as this always entertained her, especially with the sound of waves setting a relaxing rhythm to the silence. She'd been there since sunset. She'd earlier been practicing her element, but she knew enough that it wasn't improving very quickly at all.
As she briefly took a glance around at her surroundings, she spotted only a few figures of people that lingered among the beach. They didn't make too much noise. At least, not enough to where she'd notice or become distracted by. Recently she hadn't had much confrontation with friends aside from IMing or text messaging. It hadn't been for too long. She wasn't isolated or anything. Though she did wonder where her more close friends had been. They'll show up somewhere, she assured herself and returned her eyes to the view in front of her.
After becoming quite tempted, Toshiko decided to attempt to manipulate some of the water before her. She reached out her hand a little bit while keeping the other one wrapped around her legs and began to fool around with the water. She took her time, silently lifting a small amount of water above the surface and she smiled in focused satisfaction.

I WILL NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKES THAT YOU DIDI WILL NOT LET MYSELF CAUSE MY HEART SO MUCH MISERY - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Just after receiving an IM from one of her best friends Kaminari headed off to the beach. Damon landed on her shoulder as she started to head out the door and head to the beach. I hope shes not going alone. Petting demon softly her little crow, not everyday you would see someone with a crow. But then again you don't see allot of Gothic people walking about. Well I guess I'm going to be standing out in the beach... Sighing, as she slammed the car door shut. Around a few minutes later she was pulling into the beach's parking lot, looking over to the passenger seat and smiled at demon kindly.
We're here now. It seemed that the crow knew what she said because there was a few squawks erupted from his beak. Patting his head softly before she opened the car door on her side. Stepping carefully out of the car, Kami Didn't bother to change into anything that she could swim in. Ducking her head back in the car she looked at demon who was still sitting in the passenger seat. Gosh spoiled bird Closing the car door she walked over to demons side of the car and opened the door. Instantly the bird flew out of the car and on too her shoulder, rolling her eye's she closed the door again then began to look for friend.
Looking around the waters edge, Kami knew she would find her somewhere around in that area. Spotting her sitting alone. Pacing quickly to Toshi-chan. She couldn't really run because then it would be to hard for demon to sit on her shoulder without falling off. When she passed a few people she could hear their crude whispers kami ignored them as she trotted on to her friend. Waving to Toshi-chan happily, Working on your element again huh? Kami sat next to toshi-chan eagerly to watch her as she worked with the water.

I'LL BE DAMNED IF I QUIT NOW.for the longest time, i thought i'd lost the best of me, but i'll be damned if i quit now and that's for sure.
❚ words: 800 ❚ artist: the scene aesthetic ❚ tags: zephyr QUIET. TOO DAMN QUIET. And it was just how he liked it. It hadn't been every day when the bliss of peace graced the halls of the Ramsey household—or so, from what he had remembered. Always, faint whispers littered the confines, criticizing people, criticizing other elemental-users, but mostly—the heads that had led the attributes of air, fire, and... well, every other element excluding water, the clan's specialty. "I heard he disagreed with the idea", "I can't quite imagine why she'd...", and though the comments heard behind the nineteen year-old's doors were often sprinkled with concern for every meeting the current head of the aquakinetics attended, the voices of worry meant well. Really. They simply chattered too much, too much for Azure to handle—he didn't have the desire to fret about the future, about the highly coveted seat he had been chosen to claim. Not that ' becoming head ' had ever been his goal. It just happened. That guy happened—that silver-mopped joker who had a permanent grin of a fox. If it hadn't been for that joker, he wouldn't have been in such a stuck position, such a... cursed state where all eyes and pressure accumulated.
Uncle Eli's elected "first son"? ... an honor, if he had to say, but if anything, the human fox had a hand in it, and not so much with good intentions either. That was just how Zephyr was—conniving in every angle—and somehow, he had discovered the young aquakinetic's dislike for the spotlight. However, such a matter was another case of lesser importance to what Azure wanted—he wanted freedom.
Ears pressed against the cold walls of his room, silence became evident and sure. The only noise that had erupted had been the light sigh heaved under his breath, and after he was certain nobody would be knocking on his doorway any time soon, he mentally nodded to himself and stealthily crossed the interior of his living quarters, slowly arriving to the entrance of his balcony. ' Click ', the door unlocked—a fresh, salty breeze danced into his bedroom, tickling sections of the youth's exposed flesh with a cool kiss as he stepped into the welcoming presence of a vast, black sea. Fingers lifted, and crackling sounds gravitated near the delicately carved bars of the platform; ice hugged the area. Quietly, he climbed onto the summoned element, and wiith each step, squares of ice would support his weight as he descended down to meet the hills and clumps of white sand, and when he did, the crystals disintergrated into vapor, removing evidence of his temporary ' escape '.
Too many things surfaced during the past week, or even the week before, for that matter—and sure enough, his messenger had been spammed with "did u die?" remarks. Like, what the freakin' hell—it was as if his so-called friends were waiting for his corpse to rot. Not that any of them knew him; they just knew him because he was a Ramsey—half of them only conversed with him for his roots and had yearned for the recognition that came along with being friends. What were they hoping to obtain? — an autograph from his uncle? Azure didn't really know, but it worked both ways, he presumed. They got what they wanted, and he got what he needed: acquaintances, connections.
Kicking the rubbles of grains beneath his soles, his fists found its way into his pockets, and upon strolling near the crunching foam of salty water, tracks in the shape of his shoes formed behind, leading further and further away from his home. At a distance, a figure was found sprawled upon the soft earth; it became evident who it was—very few had such an eye-catching head of hair. His guts, if possible, twisted and frowned—the person who disturbed his once mild manner of life, the person who played the cards of manipulation with all the right people... was there—and near a Ramsey manor, if not suspicious enough. And so, the lad continued on his trek, stopping short a few yards as he approached the sly stranger. Gray-blue hues lowered at the resting figure, summoning thoughts of wonder—he didn't know much about the Wilson male besides the fact that he had been close friends with his uncle, but beyond that, there was really nothing normal about the character, as in—why did he interfere with the Ramsey kid's life? — had it truly been for the "good" or... for something else? Azure mentally shook it off, shrugging to himself as a small, warm smile formed upon his lips.
"Zephyr, what brings you here?"
curiously questioned the aquakinetic, bending down to sit upright on his posterior with an inquisitive glance to the newfound companion , "It's a bit late if you plan to go back home, isn't it? Why don't you stay for the night ?" [/blockquote] ❚ notes: lol, whut. separate role-plays in the same thread? well, that's an interesting outcome; how do we meet up? xD[/blockquote]

† Kindred spirits you and I † † Merely puppets on strings †Zephyr noticed that there was something wrong with the waves. He couldn't put his finger on what though since it wasn't like he was aquakinetic despite his claim to be able to use them as well. Still he noticed that it wasn't moving as usual. So he sat up and took a scan of the area. There were some people left despite the night but they might as well not be there. They certainly weren't there in his little world. His eyes stopped a certain black hair girl that almost blended in the night. He saw a small water in front of her and instantly knew who it was. Only problem though was the fact that he couldn't fully recall the name.
Despite his photographic memory he didn't always remember everything. Now that was just plain impossible wasn't it? He had problems remembering names of people that he had little to no interest in.He remembered her looks and that she had problems controlling her powers. It always made him laugh but he would compliment her anyway for trying or whenever she improved. Yet he never meant it. He never meant most of the words he said or if he did there was always some underlying hidden meaning.
Finding himself quickly losing interest, as if that was anything new, he went back to lying in the sand. His peace would soon be interrupted but he didn't mind that at all.
"Zephyr, what brings you here?"
Well well if it wasn't Eli's cute little nephew Azure. His smile widened at the sight of the boy. His gentle smile that was rather quite apathetic. After all he doubt the boy like him very much so the smile was problem just something that polite little boys do. Despite the fact that the blue haired boy was Eli's uncle he was also the 'first' son Now wasn't that strange? Well not really for the silver hair male since he had a hand in it despite the fact that he wasn't even related in the family. It wasn't that hard to influence the people. After all once Eli had told them he refused marriage they had to choose a successor. Now making sure their decision was to be Azure was the fun part. Zephyr had simply mentioned that the boy was the ideal head. He had good control over his powers, he was polite, pacifist and seemed like the very opposite of Eli. At first though they stared at him most likely in doubt and he had simply left. Good thing for him it didn't take long for them to see that Azure was very ideal, especially when compared to Eli. Someone was going to have to rebuild the Azure's reputation so why not someone that was raised to uphold it? It was perfect really. The only strange thing though was why did he suggested Azure in the first place. He was not one to help people unless it would benefit him. What did he had to gain out of this? That was a question many asked but he would always lie to them stating that he is simply looking out for a friend. Ha, as if. The Aerokinetic's thoughts quickly went back to the male that was talking to him. "Why I'm here to watch the night sky. There are lots of pretty stars tonight~." he chirped like an ignorant little child. Since Pacific Beach was not a safe place and stars can be watched from many places really. "It's a bit late if you plan to go back home, isn't it? Why don't you stay for the night?" Oh now what was this? Is Azure offering him to sleep over? Would it be like a slumber party? "True, and sleeping at the Ramsey is better than sleeping here." he stated. I guess I'll take you up on you offer on two small conditions though. One since you asked me a question I should be allowed to ask one back. What are you doing here in the middle of the night? Is it that you heard about me being here and didn't want me to sleep in the "cold?" he asked although the last part there was underlying sarcasm in it. Two..." he drawled out the word as he raised his hand and made a small flick. The water in front of the black hair girl Toshiko, finally he remembered the name, splashed in her face thanks to the wind that just suddenly bought it up. Azure you shouldn't splash water at people like that." he chided.[/blockquote][/blockquote] tag;;toshiko, kaminari, azure words;; seven-six-three notes;; hmm, well does that work for connecting the two? -shot-

somehow. ♥ Toshiko continued to focus as she slowly lifted the water from below, nearly losing concentration when she suddenly noticed the presence of Kaminari who'd taken a seat beside her. She smiled as the seperated water proceeded to rise at her smooth lifting of the hand. "Hah~!" Before she could return it to its original spot in the water and turn to greet Kaminari with her usual clingy actions, the orb of water suddenly sprung out and splashed against her face. It was way too sudden to have been thrown by a casual wind when there was only a very soft breeze blowing where she sat. It had to have been manipulated by a nearby aquakinetic, or aerokinetic.
"Azure, you shouldn't splash water at people like that." Toshiko roughly tossed her head to glare in the direction of the voice, and as expected, she spotted Azure who'd accompanied a familiar man. She couldn't remember his name though. "Real funny, Azure!" she called over at him with an irritated tone. She turned her head back to look at Kami beside her while wiping off some of the liquid from her face. As she lowered her hands, they revealed a friendly smile that was across her face and she leaped forward to wrap her arms around Kaminari. "Kami-sama~!" she cheered and pulled away moments later. That was when she spotted the crow that was neatly positioned on Kaminari's shoulder. "Ahh~, is that Demon? He's gotten so cute~!" Sometimes she tended to baby this bird as if it were human.
Toshiko always had seemed to act differently around Kami. After all, they had known eachother for some, ten years. Since then, Toshiko looked at Kami as her own big sister, treating her with a clingy, cute attitude that never seemed to fade. Though, she only acted this way when Kami was present, otherwise, she's always so stubborn and snappy. She'd been friends with Azure the same amount of time, and they are nearly just as close. However, since he's male, she treats Kami much better, for sometime after childhood, she'd grown less fond of boys. Therefore, she could safely say she trusted Kaminari more than any other being.
"Kaminari, we'd better accompany Azure," she suggested. "Who knows what other trouble that guy could get him into." Meaning, yes she did realize Azure wasn't at fault for splashing water in her face. That other guy though, she was a bit suspicious of. Who wouldn't be? Toshiko stood up and turned to walk towards her other friend. "Azure!" she hollered. "Couldn't think of another way to get my attenton, eh?" She snickered teasingly and eventually arrived in front of the other two with Kami beside her as well. "Ahh.. This is... What's your name again?" Toshiko peered down at the other guy who lay in the sand at their feet.

I WILL NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKES THAT YOU DIDI WILL NOT LET MYSELF CAUSE MY HEART SO MUCH MISERY - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Kaminari smiled proudly of Toshi as she continued to work with the water. Kaminari clapped calmly, She is working really hard to master her element. Before she could stop it or protect her from it, a sudden gust of wind moved the water Toshi was working with then it landed up on face. Kaminari knew the wind couldn't have done that alone, someone had to been have meddling with it. Standing up in a more protective gesture, First Kaminari had to fix her dress. After gently wiping the sand off the end of her dress her eye's wondered around looking for who could have caused this.
"Azure, you shouldn't splash water at people like that."
Well, that was easy enough. Looking from where the voice came from she seen azure next to someone who she wasn't quite sure who it was. Looking back at Toshi to check on her too see if she was coping okay with the water. Kami tipped her head to the side so she could get a better view of Toshi's face. You okay?
Kaminari took her hug as a yes and just smiled while hugging her back. Releasing her grip from Toshi, she grinned cheerfully at her.
"Ahh~, is that Demon? He's gotten so cute~!"
Demon must knew that the conversation was about him, squawking then pumped his wings the bird flew over to his other favorite resting spot. Now, don't baby him to much he already think he owns everything. she jokingly. Kaminari knew that demon didn't trust very many people, only a few people the bird really trusted. As anyone could tell by now Toshi was one of the few people.
"Kaminari, we'd better accompany Azure," "Who knows what other trouble that guy could get him into."
Ah, good idea Toshi-Chan~. It was quite a task to walk in the sand in the shoes she was wearing. High heals wasn't really made for terrain like this. About tripping and falling a few times luckily for her the reason she didn't fall on her face, was because of kaminari would grab at Toshi to help keep her balanced.
Finely after what seemed forever they got to where azure was and the person he was accompanying. Waving to the both of them with a small smile on her face. Kaminari remembered what toshi had said in the IM, this slowly made Kaminari's checks turn a soft pink. Great she just had to think about that now, this gave Toshi more of an idea. Hello, azure and ..... and who are you of I may ask? hopefully by now the red on her face had dispersed, if not then kaminari might blush even more from embarrassment.

I'LL BE DAMNED IF I QUIT NOW.for the longest time, i thought i'd lost the best of me, but i'll be damned if i quit now and that's for sure.
❚ words: 1050 ❚ artist: the scene aesthetic ❚ tags: zeph, toshi, kami NEVER HAD HE BEEN OBLIGATED to offer the silver-haired man a place to stay overnight, never had he been forced to converse with him either—but this was all part of being a born Ramsey. Be kind, and maybe, you'll get somewhere. Obviously, that wasn't the case. Not with Zephyr—and he was aware of that. Through the permanent smiles and grinning eyes, there had always been an ominous air lurking from the Wilson, and it wasn't just because he was a gifted air-user; everything that bounced off of the older fellow's frame practically shouted in suspicion and hidden intentions. While Azure didn't necessarily like him—(oh, no, he didn't like many people to begin with; everyone was fake, somehow, some way)—other people seemed to fall for the charade ten times over each moment he had witnessed the sly joker's slithering movements. Uncle Eli—had Uncle Eli been used? The head of the Ramsey clan had the final say in electing the next successor, so there had to have been something that had formed behind the scenes, there had to have been Zephyr's influence.
And it irritated Azure.
Sure, his parents had been ecstastic by the news when they had discovered their own child was to be the future head; and sure, it should have made him happy, but that was it: it should have—but it didn't. Someone recommended him, from what he had heard; and just like that, the pieces fell into place. He didn't do anything to prove himself worthy of the position; he didn't even ask for it, albeit he rightfully had every chance to with the amount of time he had spent with Uncle Eli. To some, he deserved it. To others, he cheated—and honestly, he couldn't agree more. Someone persuaded the Ramsey chief to pick him. And that ' someone ' had to have been the conniving jester beside him. It had to be. Who else had enough clever ferocity to manipulate the strings of people..? Tch.
Evidence—he lacked evidence to accuse Zephyr of interfering with his lifestyle; he lacked proof that Zephyr had harnessed ill plots towards him; if he did so happen to uncover a few prints of truth, people would call him crazy, they would have told him he was lucky to have such a ' good friend ' helping him become head. Disgusting. People only saw what was happening on the surface, never what rumbled beneath it; it was where the truths were masked with lies. Words, harmless and innocent from the other's lips, piped into the air, announcing the splendid view of the starry sky; automatically, the nineteen year-old thought ' bull ', all a bunch of bull. As he lifted his knees into the air, he rested his elbows upon them, guiding an index finger and thumb to the layered bangs of his navy locks; tug, tug. "Yeah, you can't see a view like this anywhere near the city, and add the sound of waves—it's a good area to find some peace."
Yet that still didn't explain why the stranger had came to this particular area. Gray-blue jewels flashed at the fox-like speaker, and when the term ' conditions ' arose, Azure momentarily stopped pulling at his hair; the first condition had consisted of a question. His insides twitched. Zephyr hadn't even been forced to answer his casual inquiry of ' what brings you here? '. No, more than that—why did he have to fulfill some silly " conditions" if he had been offering shelter? His translation of what the other had said: " I'll accept your free offer if you pay me." If anything, it should have been the other way around; normally, people didn't go around letting sneaky folks into houses for free. It wasn't as if he actually wanted the air-bender to stay under the same roof, even if it was only for a little while; hell, it was common courtesy. Aggravatingly, Zephyr was the predicted future head of the Wilson group, someone he would have to work with sooner or later, much to his displeasure. Condition two was murmured, and Azure blankly stared as a pale hand, that had belonged to none other than the older man, lifted into the air; his eyes caught two figures at a distance— Toshiko and Kaminari—and he knew what Zephyr had planned, but it was too late: ' SPLASH '. "Azure, you shouldn't splash water at people like that." The framed heir hardened his gaze upon the crafty joker, and two words—just two words—voicelessly echoed in the midst of his mind: You bastard. Quickly, but gracefully, he climbed onto his feet to attend the approaching female duo, slightly concerned that the youngest of the gatherers would obtain a cold from the sudden splurge of icy liquid. Nonetheless, as they gave their greetings, he nodded in response , "Toshiko, Kaminari ." He wasn't going to say " sorry " for something he didn't do, and most importantly of all, he wasn't going to present Zephyr the satisfaction of his misery, his annoyance—that was one thing he would never allow. Damned he would be if he did. With a thin line formed into a frown upon his lips, his slender fingers poked at Toshiko's moist forehead , "Hey, if I wanted to get your attention, the scent of cookies would have been enough ," Despite the abrupt incident he had nothing to do with, he was relieved the damage was minimal, and was also glad no furious fuss was made; if it hadn't been close friends, he was positive accusations would have been thrown at him from every side. After a moment of thought, he easily shouldered off his ebony jacket and patted the dry fabric on the raven-stringed girl's fair countenance to absorb the excess water droplets before glancing at the twenty year-old woman who had stood next to the damp victim, acknowledging her ethereal presence; and at last, the trio was finally completed. A faint smile wiped away his previous curved contour: "Almost didn't think you could make it tonight, but I'm happy you did, Kami ." Turning to face the crafty joker, he held his blazer loosely over his arm as questions of ' who are you? ' erupted from the thin lips of both ladies , "Ah, he's an acquaintance of Uncle Eli ." added the Ramsey, patiently waiting for the trading of names to be exchanged. [/blockquote] ❚ notes: eh, sorry. would have added more, but i was tired when i wrote the majority of this. D,: [/blockquote]

† Kindred spirits you and I † † Merely puppets on strings †Zephyr nodded in agreement to Azure's words. "Yep~" he chirped enjoying the small moment. "To think you and I have similar ideas. Guess that means that once we both become head we could work with each other pretty well." he stated. There was no chuckle though but to him it was a joke. Despite their friendly conversation the two were not friends. Oh not even close. They only had two things that connected them really. One was the fact that they were both first sons which meant that they would have to see a lot of each other in the future. The other would be Eli who was the uncle of the younger male. Other than that though they didn't really have any reason to come into contact with one another unlike friends who would do it on a simple whim.
It pained Zephyr that the blue haired boy would not answer his little query though. Okay not at all actually. He didn't care too much. He was never really interested in him besides the fact that he was Eli's nephew. The boy was pretty much quiet. It was hard to tell when he stroke a nerve which would at times irritate the older male quite a lot. Did his parents ever worried about how emotionally detached he is or do they actually fall for the little smile?
Whatever the case was he continued his with his little plan and splashed the girl. Not because he hated her. Oh no with the aerokinetic when he hated someone he does it very subtle never directly influencing the obstacles to their happiness. No he was much more sophisticated than that. Unlike a certain blue haired person, he wasn't violent. No he wasn't talking about Azure. The boy was pretty much a pacifist, a puppet of the Ramsey in his opinion really but he never dared voice that. He wasn't an idiot despite what his face would say. No he was talking about Eli, the man who would punch you without any warning. He considered him to be a sadist at times physically hurting those that dare be an obstacle. The Wilson though was far different. He prefered psychological. After all wounds will heal with time, they may leave scars but it would not longer hurt. Psychological pain, oh that was far different those can last till the day someone dies.
So if he didn't hate Toshiko why did he splash at the poor girl? The answer was simple. It was on a whim and that whim was to bring someone else into the conversation with him and Azure. As much as he liked small talks, which he really did love especially at parties, when it came to the Ramsey boy conversations can't even be considered small talks to him. They were more of nothing really mainly because Zephyr always lied and Azure. Sometimes he wondered if the boy had an opinion of his own. The family had trained him quite well after all. Then again he always did seem weary of the silver haired male, not that he didn't have any reason not to be. So he might have been afraid of give out his own opinions and lying...it was easy to lie to Zephyr. Simple really just state something that is not true, getting away with it is always a different story.
He watched her and a silver hair figure walked up to him. Oh another person with silver hair? Now that was rare. His smile etched up a bit but not because of the silver hair. No it was because of the creature she carried. Yes it was a crow. Although it wouldn't had mattered what it was as long as it was an animals. Zephyr always did like animals more than people. Call him strange, you wouldn't be wrong but he wouldn't care. Animals were always easier to get along with for him and much easier to dominate as well.
He watched them exchange greetings. Ahh so the one with the crow is Kaminari. That was a pretty name he had to admit and the girl was pretty as well. She looked kind of like a doll really and in a black dress. He did like the color black despite the fact that he rarely wore it. He noted the girl's cheeks turning pink. Eh? Did she not like strangers or did she have a crush on one of the two? Whatever it was he didn't particularly care. He was more concerned with the crow.
"Ah, he's an acquaintance of Uncle Eli."
Oh yes he forgot to note something far concerned with the bird. It seems Azure was quite a ladies man knowing two girls who seems to be rather fond of him. In the back of his mind the Wilson could hear Eli praising him. This was something he must bring up the next time he goes to see his dear friend. "The name is Zephyr Wilson a pleasure to meet you two." he introduced himself even taking a small formal bow despite the fact that he was the first son. He never cared much for titles anyway. "And what is his name?" he asked pointing at the bird and tilting his head a bit to the side. A small sign that he was curious. He always did wanted a bird but his cats would have probably killed it. Actually with the silver hair male he wanted every animal under the sun including mice to spiders to dogs to hawks. It didn't matter really he just liked animals. Too bad he was only allowed two. Of course that would change once he becomes head. Hmm, maybe he could open up a zoo as well now wouldn't that be fun? For now though since he didn't have a crow he found them really interesting. If only he has some shiny object to play with it.[/blockquote][/blockquote] tag;;toshiko, kaminari, azure words;; nine-eight-seven notes;; 1k is not enough for ayuyu? you have the highest word count. somehow. ♥ Toshiko blinked up at Azure as he attempted to assist her with the remaining water on her face. She frowned stubbornly, softly swatting away the offer to wipe it off. Not even a 'Thank you' escaped her lips, but she never accepted such an offer that made her feel in need for help with such a small task. That being just her nature. She returned her gaze to the other man, who added his own name.
"The name is Zephyr Wilson a pleasure to meet you two." "Ah.." Zephyr. That was his name. She'd met him sometime before.. She hadn't exactly been fond of him and the suspicion that came with his automatic welcoming attitude. It was as if her harsh attitude was unable to throw him off. All he'd done was continue with that grin of his. Not to mention he'd refused to take the chance to insult her skills at using her own powers. Sometimes, it almost annoyed her more than when someone did insult her abilities. She'd rather people were honest of what they thought of them, rather than babying her.
So apparenty he was an acquaintance of Eli. The Ramsey head. He, she wasn't too satisfied with either. They never seemed to get along, always argueing anytime they encountered one another. Of course he'd make rude comments on her skills, and in return, she'd find some way of mocking his job of being head. She clearly didn't get along with too many people. But that was really just her way of confronting other people., besides more closer friends, moreso female friends.
Toshiko glanced to her side to look at the crow placed on Kaminari's shoulder when Zeph requested its name. She giggled a bit. She found the bird cute, and she had a thing for cute things. You could say she was "obsessed" with things obtaining the trait, or things that looked or acted cute. It simply made her human to have a weakness like this. She looked up at Kami expectantly, an amused smile formed with her lips, and waited for her friend to reply with her pet's name.

I WILL NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKES THAT YOU DIDI WILL NOT LET MYSELF CAUSE MY HEART SO MUCH MISERY - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Kaminari smiled gratefully, it seemed her and her bird was getting all the attention now. I was afraid that I wasn't going to be able to go too. I got allot going on right now. She wasn't about ready to tell them why she had been so busy lately mostly, was because she knew one of the two would freak. Sighing she shook the weird feeling off her chest as she hid her emotional distress with a simple smile.
Ah, so you Eli? she spoke as she looked at the man with a blank stare. She wasn't normally this blunt, but she was only acting like this because the side protective of her haven't stop completely yet. Nice to meet you as well Zephyr, oh and this is demon.
She spoke proudly when the topic of her bird came into play it seemed that he was an animal lover like herself. Holding her arm out straight in front of her so that her beloved pet could rest on her arm for a little her shoulder was starting to get a bit shore. Laughing nervously she there was a portably that looked like a moron doing this.
Kaminari always wondered who this Eli person was she heard about him allot but never really meet him in person. She wasn't really sure what to think about this guy just yet but by the feeling she was getting he wasn't really a person azure would normally hangout with.
After being lost in thought she put her arm down and smiled weakly at everyone. Demon now back on her shoulder tipped his head to the side and squawked loudly enough to make her flinch. It was the birds way of greeting the man he haven't met before.
So if I may ask, what was you two talking about over here? Kaminari knew both azure and toshiko for it seemed forever the three knew about everything about each other but something mostly was kept to themselves. But from what she was taught somethings are best untold, she unsure who had taught her this because she had so many adults in her life when she was growing up.

I'LL BE DAMNED IF I QUIT NOW.for the longest time, i thought i'd lost the best of me, but i'll be damned if i quit now and that's for sure.
❚ words: 864 ❚ artist: the scene aesthetic ❚ tags: zeph, toshi, kami WHY DID HE EVEN BOTHER to step out of the Ramsey manor was beyond him—if he hadn't, he wouldn't have had to bump into the grinning male and invite him for an overnight slumber; then again, the latter decision had been his fault, and sometimes, he wondered if the so-called ' rules of formalities ' even existed, and pondered as to why he had even followed something imaginary. Certainly, Azure could have said to himself ' screw it ' and left the subject of a "sleepover" untouched—that would have felt good, but it wasn't correct. Everything he wanted to do, ever dreamed of, was never the right way of doing things, and it hurt the closest people he loved. Faintly, but clearly, he had recalled the memory of his dear mother's tears, crystal and overflowing as it poured from her exquisite blue jewels and down her rosy cheeks—at that time, a time so very long ago, she had bowed down and apologized for Azure's reckless behavior to the previous head of the clan. It had only been once when he had tried to actually be a kid, yet it was that one time he had truly regretted because such an image remained burning into his adult cranium.
Never ever did he want for anyone to feel that way again, never ever did he want for himself to experience such a sight that made him feel utterly worthless and pathetic. A subtle jealousy for those beings who were free like birds, free and unafraid to express a variety of emotions like anger, grew in the youth's heart—how he had wished to be just as fearless, but that was probably it: he didn't have the heart to sadden his family, and ironically, people thought he really didn't have a heart, given his lack of ' emotion '. Apparently, positivity and a generous countenance wasn't enough to appear human, or rather, normal—but that was okay, his duty as a Ramsey was more important; and that was okay because he still had his friends.
"Friends come and go," declared an elder who had usually been found sitting on a porch while Azure strolled to school along the route ,"but family always stays." He wasn't exactly sure why he had decided to listen to the old man's stories during some afternoons when he would return from class—people said the guy had a lose screw in his head, but he was interesting, at least; he occupied Azure's time, and it was a good thing—the youth, once a mere high-schooler, participated in several activities to find reasons not to go home early—the man just happened to be one of them. Home was a cage, always had been, always would be. Back then, he had a little freedom; he sincerely believed he would be completely free once he was old enough to depart the Ramsey nest. Now? The future appeared bleak; he couldn't run away even if he wanted all thanks to that one title: "first son"—that had sealed his fate.
Smile—yep, just smile—and he did when he received a response from his older female companion; friends just come and go, he mentally reminisced, so why should he have cared about Kaminari? Grayish hues studied the human doll—she didn't look content; she obviously had a problem to deal with, and even though she had admitted it, it didn't help alleviate whatever she suffered with. Some friend you are, Azure, sneered that cynical voice that had pounded in his mind. "I understand, though if you ever need anything, you can always come by,"
he softly offered, lowering his gaze to his blazer as he began folding it neatly , "I'll be here for you ." He paused, and quickly added: "And Toshiko, too, I'm sure ," he withdrew his attention to the younger lady , "because for some reason, you're always there when we cook your favorites—and that's often ." The two girls were close to him, precious enough that he would do as much as he could to be of assistance to them, but as that old man had declared—he was prepared for them to dart out of his life, forever and gone. Truly, the nineteen year-old didn't think he was as kind as he should have been; he wasn't doing enough to please anyone—and, yes, he was quite well aware he couldn't please everybody in the world, but he had to try to repay his friends for every ounce of happiness they brought into his week. Azure threw his focus over his shoulders, cluelessly staring at Zephyr as a question from Kaminari shot towards the male duo , "We... were just talking about the view ." Crossing his arms, he chewed the insides of his cheek and furrowed his brows , "And let me guess, Toshiko was training again ." He didn't ask, he said it as if it was a statement. Had there been one mystery of the entire islands, it would have to be the female aquakinetic; it was amazing that anyone could improve so... little with such overflowing dedication to becoming stronger and with so much time put into the endeavor , "Why don't you get an instructor ?" Funny, how he doubted that even a mentor would be able to guide her. † Kindred spirits you and I † † Merely puppets on strings †Zephyr watched the two exchanged words and noted that Azure seemed actually close to them. His voice not as cryptic but actually having some warmth. Wow, that was something new. He didn't know the kid had actually cared about anything besides the boring stuffs like family tradition and such. Well he supposed it might had been because the two barely knew anything about each other despite how friendly they acted. No, it was because of how friendly they acted that they didn't know anything about each other. After all he usually only be nice to those that he didn't know. Those that he care about...well he suppose he was kind to them to like how Azure was but the difference was that the boy cared for people while the silver hair male didn't.
Ah, so you Eli? What? You Eli? He wasn't even sure what she meant. If she was asking if he was Eli than no not at all. They didn't even look similar. He decided to act like he didn't hear it simply because he wasn't sure on what to say.
Nice to meet you as well Zephyr, oh and this is demon. Demon? So that was the bird's name. "That's such a cute name." he stated actually meaning it too but that wasn't saying much. After all this was the same guy that named a white cat Midnight and a black cat Snow. He was never good when it came to naming things. Giving people nicknames they would soon learn to hate though, that was another story all together. The thought made his smile widened a bit.
He stared at the creature spreading its wings although it was rather hard to see in the dark night. It quickly coming down to her arms. The two really made a good pair actually. Almost like a horror movie now that he thought about it. Pretty interesting, did she walk with it everywhere? Would people stare at her? Why did she keep the crow in the first place. Wait no, now that he thought about it he could see why. Not many people actually keep crows for pets after all so it felt more original and interesting. Makes things a bit more fun as well. At least that was his theory on why anyway. It would certainly be his reason on why he would want a crow for a pet.
His mind wondered back to poor little Toshiko the girl he had splashed water at. A part of him wondered if she was going to get a small cold because of it. He certainly hoped so. It would be fun. It would benefit her as well after all. If she does get a small cold then she would build resistance to it so in a way he was helping her even if it wasn't in his intentions at all. He just wanted to do that to her on his usual small whims.
So if I may ask, what was you two talking about over here? Oh what is this? She wanted to get to know about boy talk? Now wasn't this interesting even if they didn't talk about much. They never talked about anything much. He opened his mouth but it seems Azure had beaten him to it. What a shame. "We... were just talking about the view."
Was that a small pause he heard there? Still he nodded nonetheless. "Although that wasn't all. Azure here invited me to sleep at his house. Hey maybe you two should come over? We can have a small party with just the four of us? Doesn't that sound fun?" He asked offering the two girls. He didn't even bother asking for the younger male's permission. He knew the boy wouldn't dare deny it, not in front of the two girl, especially with how it seems that he actually care for him. Ahh the innocence. Zephyr had made that mistake once didn't he? Getting close to people and blindly trusting them not even knowing if they were lying to him or not. Well he certainly learned his lesson from a certain incident and he wasn't going to let it happen again. The incident had never been released though and was always something that was rather kept a secret. Although the person that caused it didn't get away without a punishment. Actually, he didn't get away at all but it seems little Azure has yet to learn how troublesome and cruel this world could be. Oh well, he'll learn one day, he's a smart boy after all. "Why don't you get an instructor ?" At that the silver hair male immidietly responded. "Why don't you do it? Instructors can cost a lot and she might not have enough to pay the person but I'm sure a friend would gladly do it for free." he responded rather cheerfully. life starts now. you've done all the things that could kill you
somehow. ♥ Toshiko couldn't help but notice as well the reluctance that was subtly expressed by Kaminari's sigh. Toshiko blinked, her eyes remaining on her for a moment before glancing at Azure who spoke next, mentioning their promising assistance that they'd lend Kami if she ever requested it. Toshiko smiled warmly and gave her friend another tight hug to emphasize what Azure had said. "You got it!" she assured her. This would always be true. She'd stop at nothing to help her, no matter what the odds. If she was able to tolerate her own issues, surely she could do such a sthing for Kaminari. Toshiko looked back over at Azure. "because for some reason, you're always there when we cook your favorites—and that's often." he'd said. Toshiko smirked teasingly. "You're not implying I eat too much, are you?" she responded, as she was referring to the second time he'd spoken of her taking a liking to when they'd decided to cook for her.
She released her tight grip on Kami when the other two told them what they'd been talking about while she and Kaminari were some distance away. "We... were just talking about the view." Azure answered. Toshiko instantly realized his hesitance, but she didn't think much of it. Whatever the two decided to talk about was nothing of her concern. She really didn't care. Their "Man talk"(boy talk) wasn't really important to her. And if they'd decided to hide it, it clearly wasn't urgent, or didn't require her thoughts. But then Zephyr added, "Although that wasn't all. Azure here invited me to sleep at his house. Hey maybe you two should come over? We can have a small party with just the four of us? Doesn't that sound fun?"
Toshiko's eyes flashed with interest. Though it wasn't much for being invited over. She'd been to Azure's house countless times, and done just as many memorable things. She was more interested in what it was made that her friend offer the other man a place to stay. Surely he had other places to stay rather than at an equal's manor? Toshiko's deep blue eyes flickered from one to the other and stayed silent for a brief moment. Who was she to decline an invitation to such a place? Well, she could if she even had the slightest consideration to reject it, but it ought to be much more exciting as opposed to her own lonely house. She simply shrugged and placed her hands on her hips.
Immediately, the confident assumption of what they'd been doing made by Azure made her sneer. His tone seemed to hint at her that she was so predictable. She was, you could say, since she was always trying to improve. And at such an awfully slow pace. But what so closely set her off was his suggestion of hiring an instructor. Who was he to offer such an idea? Well, a friend. Duh. Of course this reminder in the back of her head softened the temptation to yell at him. After all, he did care, and was just trying to help with her struggling elemental skill. But wasn't that what she disliked the most? Help? Assistance?
"Why don't you do it? Instructors can cost a lot and she might not have enough to pay the person but I'm sure a friend would gladly do it for free."
Toshiko's eyes glared at Zephyr sharply once he spoke of this idea. Was he suggesting Azure teach her to properly use her element? Well, he made a good point, her being possibly unable to afford an instructor, and that he could fill in as her own. But I don't want to be such a burden. The thought made her flinch. Toshiko stayed quiet though, unable to protest, as much as she wanted to. Though she didn't want to make such a scene. Yeah, make a scene on such a calm beach at night. Great excuse.
