tell me what you want to hear, something that'll light those ears. i'm sick of all the insincere. ♥
You could say she was quite foolish to have such an excuse to be where she was, walking towards the large Ramsey household with the still embarassed look on her face. It was something to be made fun of by anyone who found out her reason as to why she was sent there. Of course, it wasn't any casual choice to visit the house, not a decision to visit her friend Azure, or the young irresistable Time. No, it was a bit more complicated, you could say. She'd had no say whether or not she'd accept this. At the moment, the ideas of the others' had defeated her own. In the end, they'd made up their mind and it was clear... Toshiko was forced to become Eli's maid for the day.
Yes. The Ramsey head had recruited the particular commoner as his own personal service for the chosen day. That included, her wearing the maid costume. Why? Gee, it was a bit of a pointless reason so she thought. All she did was make him buy her icecream! But of course, that damned man at the counter had to trick him into paying... $91.10, was it? Despite the fact the man was indeed kidding and in return gave the large amount of change back to Toshiko, Eli refused to accept money as his preferred debt. Instead, at a surrounding crowd's suggestion, Eli allowed the only payment to be, infact, her becoming his maid for a day. What a great solution wouldn't you think? The head seemed to enjoy the idea very much, claiming it would have been entertaining to make her life hell for the day. How thoughtful. So here she was, the day after the declaration of her maid sentence, and she was now to do whatever the man said. If he said "Jump", she'd say "How high?" As if.
She continued slowly towards the entrance to the house. She'd hoped Eli hadn't been preparing the activities he'd make her do. He always seemed to be so sadistical, throwing out unnecessary, rather rude comments at her at any given chance. But this? This had to be the most humiliating command, one she could do nothing about.. She could, but it'd be hard to convince them she refused to go through with it. Though there was one person in particular she was ready to kick, in the one place guys do not want to get kicked, if he decided to take advantage of her being made do such a job. "And Azure, I'll especially smack you if you choose to make a mess just for me to clean up." was similar to what she'd said. He was her friend. Regardless of the opportunity, he should be aware of what he'd have coming for him if he made such a stupid mistake.
Toshiko arrived at the doorway that led into the house, and hesitated before reaching forward to place her hand on the doorknob. She flinched. She tried convincing herself to allow herself in, as if it were just another visit, one that didn't include following the head whom she'd despised so much's orders. However, she couldn't pretend completely. The thought that'd the man would, even temporarily, be able to tell her what to do whether or not it made sense.. It made her incredibly hesitant. She was never one to like the idea of being bossed around, or be forced to dress up and possibly be looked at like eye candy.. Perhaps no one in the household would get that much excitement from her being ina maid costume, but either way... She still couldn't believe it.
She sighed and after a minute's hesitation turned the doorknob and opened the door to reveal the room that sat behind it. It was so very familiar, after coming over countless times in the past. But her own fate that had only been of Eli's knowledge seemed to worry her. He'd hold this over her for who knows how long afterwards. Not to mention his particular advantage of using her lack of success against her. She felt... powerless.. as soon as she stepped in the door. Dear God, let this day end quickly.

GOT TO LEARN TO ACT LIKE GOD.you rule the world, you give the word; and if someone should fall behind, just let their suffering slip your mind.
❚ words: 782 ❚ artist: meg & dia ❚ tags: toshiko, open LOLLIPOP IN HIS MOUTH, music beating into his ears, and neon clips pinned onto his bangs—nothing felt better than having house-keepers on leave; no unnecessary chatter, no flirtacious remarks, no incessant gossip, and, well, it simply equaled to a less stressful life despite the lack of consistent cleanliness everywhere the youth loitered. Socks and garments hung over staircases and chairs, loose fur of pets stuck to furniture, and remnants of food and empty bags were sprawled over tables and floors—it wasn't the very image of havoc, it was just... a typical homely scene of a family consisting of more than, maybe, five people and six animals? Yeah, typical, just typical—except he couldn't remember spotting a mug of days-old coffee sitting near a computer with long strands of hair spewing out of it at any of his friends' households; was that even normal? Mentally shrugging, the trek continued from the hallway and down the platforms of the stairs, each step bringing forth a clearer view of the gross junkyard called the ' living room ' into sight. He paused. Had it been like that an hour ago?
Broken pottery containing plants dragged dirt across the wooden panel flooring, curtains snapped from its suspension hanging loosely and tattered, and... "meow", a white cat sang, patiently waiting for its owner to meet its tiny, lithe frame before pouncing into his arms as if it complain. He stroked its pointed ears, mesmerized by the impossible disorder, and pinched the hilt of his spherical candy, popping it out of his mouth ,"Huh,"
was all he had said before jamming the sweet into its rightful place, yet when he brushed his fingers against his feline's silky fur, his brows furrowed; he dropped his gaze onto his bi-eyed pet of which had returned the stare—it was wet, and the further he inspected its body, the more obvious it became that a brown stain was present on its fur: coffee. Disgruntled, the nineteen year-old locked his hands around his moaning cat, dodging dirty underwears and fallen potato chips whilst heading straight towards the kitchen, mission written in mind. He ignored the reddish-green slop bubbling in a pot, he ignored the splashes and dripping mess stuck to the ceiling and walls [created from the night before; an "experiment" for dinner formed by every hungry occupant in the shelter], and dumped the whining mammal into the sink. Snaking a metal hose into his grip, he tested the spray of water, warming it gradually in preparation to aim it at the dark blob printed at Almond's side, yet before he even had the chance to shoot—his cat leapt in escape, distracted by a cockroach crawling across the tiles. It pawed after it, clamping its plush pink appendages to squish the maroon intruder; further and further away it went, only to attempt to stick its arm underneath a sofa where the insect had hid. A sigh left his lips as he settled the spray into its handle, crossing his arms as he glowered his gray jewels onto his occupied friend , "You can do that later ." But he was exhausted and couldn't give much effort to drag his cat to bathe when he knew it would have been a hopeless attempt if grimy corners would only ruin its mane once again. Legs found the will to move again, and this time, climb over the couch to rest upon its plump interior. Tugging a single ear plug from hearing range, the navy-tufted lad clicked onto his music device, skipping to a random song; ' click ', his attention flicked to the doorway, automatically shooting up into an upright angle , "Uncle Eli ?" Wrong. Approaching into view was a thin female figure, cladded in white and black, reminiscent of a maid, and one he hadn't expected to visit despite the circumstances his uncle had mentioned the other day about ' owing '. Azure didn't think the two of them were serious, but now that he had considered it, his relative had declared something proudly along the lines of a ' slave ' coming around the present time. "Oh... Toshiko ." She, however, wasn't someone he would consider fit to be a cleaner; would the kitchen receive another layer of yuck over its current condition? He couldn't imagine. "I suppose I'll go inform Uncle Eli of your arrival ," he piped up after a moment of silence and after he had removed the pop out of his mouth, shifting from his comfortable arrangement on the couch, scrambling off of it. Below him, the cockroach moved under the table center, and along with it, his cat followed, hissing a battle cry. "If it's bad down here, I'd hate to see how uncle's room looks like, actually ." [/blockquote] ❚ notes: ......[/blockquote]

---------------------------------------------------- It was another normal day for Albel really. As usual he woke up early and was helping out even doing some extra work since his fellow servants had paid him. It was hard though having to clean all of the dishes. Part of him wondered just how many people were in the Ramsey family, one part was scared to find out and the last lectured him for even having such thoughts in the first place. They were nice enough to give him a place to stay and take him in as well despite the fact that he never finished his education. It was one of the rare things he was ashamed of. Rarely did he ever feel shame since he was desperate for money, enough for him to easily suck up all his pride and smile as he does it. After all if he pleases others and do a good job that meant they might hire him again and that was an opportunity to get some more money.
Although today there were a lot more talking. If there was anything about servants it would be the fact that they were really closely knit so rumors usually spread faster than wildfire. Apparently they were going to have a new servant but more than that it would be Eli's personal servant. At that thought the first thing that came to his mind was something rather...wrong. He shook his head to get rid of such thoughts. What in the world was he thinking? He should be focused on his work so he could send back money to his family. Yet he was curious to who it would be. It was only for the day but he did wanted to help her. Being a servant wasn't exactly easy always having to bow his head to others, carry heavy stuffs and cleaning. The only things he found himself having fun with is cooking and taking care of the animals.
Once he was done he decided that it was time to take the papers one of the other servant was suppose to take to Eli's room. Hmm...maybe he could take a peek at the new servant then. He heard it was a maid and that she was rather cute as well. Again he shook his head. He doesn't have time to think of such things. Besides even if he had time he certainly didn't have the money. He barely had enough to feed himself...even when he skipped meals. There was no way he could provide for a girl. At times he really wished he was born a noble, life would be so much easier. Guess beggars can't be choosers." he mubmled quietly to himself before grabbing the stack of papers.
As he walked into the living room he noticed that the first son Azure was standing there and the door was open revealing a new face. As he spotted her though he could had sworn that he had seen her somewhere before but couldn't place it. He couldn't even think of a name for her. The paper was still in his hand though as he stood there staring at her with a semi-shocked face before realizing that even though she was a maid she was still technically a guest and so he bowed. "Welcome to the Ramsey estate." he spoke making sure that the paper would not fall to the ground.

tell me what you want to hear, something that'll light those ears. i'm sick of all the insincere. ♥
Toshiko immediately stiffened in the doorway, staring in disbelief at the horrid mess that was left ahead of her. You gotta be kidding me... A barricade of trash and unnecessary litter scattered the floor and staircase that stood in front of her. "H-How do they live in such a..." she whispered to herself, stepping over some of the filth and fully entering the house to close the door behind her. She was cut off as she heard the immediately familiar first son's voice when he called out to her. "Oh... Toshiko." She briefly averted her attention over to him, only to glance away with the slightest blush across her face. She found it embarrassing to be seen in such a... such a humiliating outfit.
She wore the knee-length black and white maid dress, head piece, apron and all. She felt like some sort of anime character.. all dressed up to satisfy those customers at a maid cafe of some sort. Ick. As expected of those dogs, wanting nothing more than to watch girls parade themselves around, following their every order. Well, that had always been her idea. Apparently her perspective on most males had gone from less trustworthy to perverted and ignorant, too.. She was quite the judgmental girl, wasn't she? However, being seen by Azure in the outfit hadn't made her turn away in disgust. It was simply embarrassing.
Toshiko felt being displayed in such clothing would make her seem much more tolerant and willing to obey another's commands. She was far from all that. Had she turned down the circumstance of the debt, she would have had to play off with her own money. And, she'd basically spent most of the "change" already on small, frivolous things. She hardly made it through life on her own, money wise. All money she made on those very few days spent actually doing a part-time job was stored away for her to use to spend on more important things, like bills, food. She often ate boring stuff like noodles and muffins all day with juice beverages or something of the sort, which explains why she'd always mooch off others from time to time.
"If it's bad down here, I'd hate to see how uncle's room looks like, actually." came Azure's final comment.
Way to reassure the poor girl. She frowned sheepishly and allowed her bangs to fall over her eyes for a moment. Today would be hell and she knew it. And she wondered why she even came at all. In her opinion, it was pointless for a much wealthier Ramsey head to force a girl like her to repay him in such a way. Hadn't he enough servants of his own? But no, he had to torture her in a rather unique way, by making her be his maid for the day. As if she hadn't felt disadvantaged enough. She let out a soft sigh and rose her head up again, only to spot another servant heading over, stack of papers in hand. "Welcome to the Ramsey estate." the man said with a bow, and Toshiko flinched from the formality of his greeting. She got this confrontation a lot from servants like him, and what else was she to expect? But she had never liked receiving special treatment. There hadn't ever been any particular reason for this, she just didn't like it. "Er... Thank you," Toshiko murmured with a nod.
